Why did I do the denial with Kevon? Marquise was facts from jump switching out locks. A double deadbolt with a restraining order. This is unreal. So not right. A Nightmare! You were there when Kevon went ballistic in that kitchen. Breaking up, smashing, crashing, slamming, wild. Out of control. You were there when Kevon was about to kill with evil dark facial twists and turns. And had the nerve to call me out in front of the police. I wanted to dice and slice with a knife. Liar. I’m picking up broken glass and clumps of my hair that’s falling out from nerves but I was wrong for changing the locks. Kevon is never the problem. I was wrong for contacting security at work about this Alfred Hitchcock situation. A suspense horror. I look up on Monday Kevon is parked in front of CyberVision Building Engineering and Designs, LLC. I look up on Friday Kevon is standing at the ATM across the street from CBED.

I call and text Kevon Friday to put end to this messed up doing-too-much-insanity. Kevon never calls or text back. But then Egypt calls and tells me that her “man” is tired of getting unwanted text messages and calls. And that they would pray for me! About hour later Pastor Clemons is on the cell with Romans 12:17 advising me to just “Let Go and Let God.”

I can’t find myself in the mirror. I try to clear the head fog so I can see Mason. I can’t find me in the mirror. But I feel me hurting. I’m hurting me hard. Hakeem calls a few hours later. I can’t risk staying on the phone too long. I don’t want to risk suspicion that Hakeem has been convinced that Kevon “moved in with trash.” A Costume Christian. We are only on the phone a few minutes Friday night. Hakeem is billboard off limits—even if without ears overflowing with muddy bugs from Kevon.

This morning, I get a nasty email from Kevon. I believe it’s demonic coincidence. It’s like really? You just might know that Thursday, I plan to file the restraining order in DC Superior Court. You just might know that Marquise is going with me to the Clerk’s Office on Thursday.

You was in fostercare. But Marqueese not like you. He chill at Planet Fitness. He waved. Why you drag your brother in bunch of shit with locks. Kids have always been scared.
